Gardes Suisses, officer c. 1690

Complete uniform of the Swiss Guards officer, around 1690.

Meticulously reconstructed from period pictorial sources, as well as extant contemporary civilian suits - like the one preserved at the Victoria & Albert Museum (personally examined) - this beautiful attire, made of the finest velvet red and blue cloth, with silver lace, silver thread bar buttonholes and hand-made silver embroidered buttons, comprises all items of clothing:

laced coat, waistcoat, breeches, silk stockings, high heeled, square toed shoes, ruffled shirt, cravat with venetian lace, feathered tricorne hat, waistbelt, white silk sash with silver fringe.

(Periwig and sword are not included).

It can be made by standard sizes or to measure (see form above).
