French Imperial Guard tunic pattern 1860
Tunic pattern 1860 of the French Imperial Guard. Either Grenadier or Voltigeur version. Faithful replica of original extant tunics in museums (Paris and Fontainebleau) and private collections, made of fine blue cloth, with scarlet cuffs and collar, white cuff flaps, nine white (grenadiers) or yellow (voltigeurs) "cul-de-dé" braid laces on the front. Cotton lining with front padding giving the characteristic "pigeon's breast" look of the period. Made either in standard sizes and heights or to measure (see form above). Epaulettes not included, can be bought seperately.
