Kurtka of Polish/Dutch/French lancers

Kurtka of Polish/Dutch/French lancers

Kurtka or lancer's jacket of Polish style, used by lancer units of all period armies, and particularly by the Polish (blue) and Dutch (red) lancers of the French Imperial Guard, and later by two regiments of chevaux-légers lanciers.

All of these variations can be ordered and are similarly priced, just specify which unit and regiment you want in the relevant notes.

This is the most accurate and faithful replica of this iconic garment available anywhere, carefully reconstructed from a thorough study of the Bardin regulations, and examination of the original jacket preserved at the Musée de l'Armée of Paris. Made of correct quality (weight, texture and finish) wool broadcloth, following the detailed specifications of the 1814 treatise by Dupré-S.te-Maure, faced with cloth and lined with natural unbleached linen in the body and sleeves, and carefully drafted, cut and sewn so as to fit correctly - smartly but also comfortably - as per period military fashion.

My own replica is available graded in the four regulation standard sizes, plus an xlarge modern size. It can also be cut and fitted to your own measures (see measure form above). The officer's version can also be ordered, in superfine cloth with either fine linen or twill silk lining (please specify), this item is made to measure only!
