Russian overcoat 1854-77
Russian overcoat of pattern 1850-4, as worn during the Crimean War, or 1862 as worn in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877 (siege of Pleven). Reconstructed from contemporary photos, the text of the official regulations and drawings taken from authentic original extant examples preserved in Russian museums.
It is made of a heavy, thick wool grey/beige melange kersey cloth, faced with the same cloth at the front and lined with natural hemp canvas in the body. The double-breasted overcoat is fastened in the typical Russian style, with a single row of buttons (of brass or pewter) at the centre front and hooks & eyes at the edge. Coloured collar according to regiment (please specify).
This overcoat can be made for both infantry and cavalry regiments, Jaegers, artillery etc. please enquire.
Available in the standard four regulation sizes, plus an additional xlarge one (specify your height for sleeve and overall length).
The officer's version is made of finer cloth and features a padded silk lining.
